"Will I Be The One To Kill My Mother?" How to Monetize Your Personal Story and Build a Strong Brand

Authentic entrepreneurship refers to building a business around your personal story and experiences. Your unique story is what sets you apart from others in the market, and it's what customers can connect with on a deeper level.

My mother strolled into the sitting room and flung her handbag on one of the sofas. She had been feeling a slight discomfort in her stomach. She felt a little lightheaded as she walked around the side stool to gently place herself on the sofa. The discomfort was now turning into a sharp pain. She rubbed her hands over her heavy and protruding belly, she was 8 months pregnant.

"I thought the doctor said not soon," she muttered quietly to herself. She was returning from her mother's house. "Maybe the stress I had gone through was what was causing the pain," she added.

Her husband, my Dad, had stormed into his room angrily. He yelled at my mum for arriving at such late hour with a heavy stomach. He had every right to react that way because it was late. It was about 12:45. He had initially told her while they were together to stay put with her mother because if she should return home with him they might arrive late.

She could not go to him now and tell him she is not feeling good, Of course, he'll yell at her again.

"What will I do? I don't want this guy's problem, he overreacts. Let me get myself a glass of water," she said to herself as she moved gently to the edge of the sofa and forced her way up. It was difficult to stand on her feet now. About exiting the sitting room the pain hit her so much that she screamed. It was a sudden burst. She knew right then that it was time. Shaking her head in dismay she made her way back to the sitting room before the pain hit her once more. It almost crippled her this time.

She was now stuck between screaming to my father for help or enduring the suffocating pain.

What will a laboring mother do?

I see you're now engaged on the story. Before I continue, why do you think I decided to tell you the story?

After various studies of the marketing environment and as an entrepreneur I realized that what makes way in the market is one's story.

Stories that has to do with your emotion i.e. your pain, anger, anxiety, fear, excitement and so on.

We can both agree that any of the above mentioned emotion can influence the decision of anyone towards a phenomenon, product or brand.

Emotions are what we sell, we don't sell product. Why do you think big companies pay a lot of money for campaigns, ads and so many other things. They are to create avenues that relates with their audience, with their emotion concerning any subject.

When a brand will like to know where it stands in the market they'll ask this questions:

1. What do our audience perceive?

2. What do they think?

From the above statement you can see that the question are directed to their emotions.

Ask your client or customer the same question and drive a narration that favors your brand positively and then you've won them over.

Authentic entrepreneurship refers to building a business around your personal story and experiences. Your unique story is what sets you apart from others in the market, and it's what customers can connect with on a deeper level.

Building an authentic brand around your personal story can be a powerful tool in creating a successful business. Here are some tips on how to monetize your personal story and build a strong brand.

  1. Find your unique story: To build an authentic brand, you need to identify what sets you apart from others. Think about your life experiences, challenges, and successes. What have you learned from these experiences? How can you use them to connect with customers? Once you identify your unique story, you can start building a brand around it.

  2. Be vulnerable: Sharing your personal story can be intimidating, but it's what sets you apart from others. Being vulnerable and sharing your struggles can help customers connect with you on a deeper level. It shows that you're human and that you've overcome obstacles. Use your story to inspire others and build a community around your brand.

  3. Build a strong online presence: In today's digital world, it's important to have a strong online presence. Use social media platforms to share your story and connect with customers. Create a website that showcases your brand and tells your story. Use email marketing to reach out to customers and build relationships.

  4. Offer value: Building an authentic brand is not just about telling your story; it's also about offering value to your customers. Identify your customers' pain points and offer solutions. Provide high-quality products and services that solve problems and make their lives easier. By offering value, you'll build trust and loyalty with your customers.

  5. Keep evolving: As you grow and evolve as a person, your brand should also evolve. It's important to keep your story and brand up to date with your current experiences and perspectives. Don't be afraid to pivot and make changes to your brand as needed. By staying open to change and evolution, you'll continue to build an authentic brand that resonates with your customers and stays relevant in the market.
